Location : Situated in Satpuda Ranges in Akrani Taluka of Nandurbar district. It is located between latitude 21 degrees, 54 minutes N, and longitude 74 degrees, 27 minutes E and 74 degrees, 30 minutes E, at the height of 1036 meter or 3400 ft. above mean sea level.

 Topography : Toranmal is a small plateau with a approximate area of 41.43 sq. kilometers. The plateau has a soccer like shape from which a stream flows across the plateau from south to north. In southern part of the plateau, stream is bounded and forms Yashavant Lake which spans about 1.59 sq. km. and has maximum depth of 27 meters. Further towards the north on the same stream is Lotus lake which derives its name from the fact that it is always covered with lotus flowers. Same stream jumps down the cliff in Sita Khai, into the gorge forming an entralling waterfall in rainy season.

Approach : Toranmal is about 47 km. from Shahada city which is about 240 km from Nashik and about 200 km from Surat. Nearest train statino is Nandurbar which is about 40 km from Shahada. However for approach from Mumbai, train station to approach is Dhule (90km) or Chalisgaon (145km.). Nearest Airport is Aurangabad (290km).

Toranmal is pleasant and cool thoughout the year. 

Special : A big Yatra attended by  thousands of devotees on Mahashivratri in Gorakhnath Temple. On this occasion pilgrims walk for no of days barefooted from all the areas around, not only Nadurbar district but near districts of Maharashtra, Madhyapradesh and Gujarat. 

Yashavant Lake - the main attraction. This lake is named after Yashwantrao Chavan who travelled on a horse back to this hill station.

Sita Khai of Toranmal - one of the main attractions. In rainy season presents one of the most enthralling waterfalls. 'Sita Khai' is actually a modified name for 'Sidha Kahi' i.e. 'Straight Valley'.
